What Aydria does

  1. Writes to your landlord with the end date of the lease, the amount and your bank details.
  2. Follows up on a schedule, and asks for a breakdown if they want to keep part of it.
  3. If they still don’t pay, it drafts a formal demand letter (ingebrekestelling) for you to approve. Registered post is an option.

What you need

  • Your rental contract, or a photo of the page about the deposit.
  • The handover report or photos from the day you left, if you have them.
  • The date you handed back the keys.

Tips that help

  • Since July 2023, Dutch landlords have to return the deposit within 14 days of the end of the lease, or 30 days if there’s damage to settle.
  • Photos with dates are worth more than any argument. Upload what you have.
  • Keep it friendly first. Most deposits come back after a clear, polite letter.
