Blocked calls

How Aydria declines sales calls, hangs up on robocalls, what blocking costs (nothing) and how to unblock a number.

Aydria blocks sales calls and robocalls at your front desk, so you never have to answer them.

What happens

  • Sales calls. Aydria answers, says "No thanks, please remove this number from your list", then blocks the number and logs the call.
  • Robocalls. Aydria hangs up within 5 seconds, then blocks and logs the number. A recorded voice that starts after silence, or a first sentence like "press 1", gives it away.
  • Numbers already blocked. They are not answered at all.

It costs nothing

A blocked call is 0 credits. Your morning briefing says how many it stopped, for example "I blocked 6 sales calls this week".

How Aydria decides

Four signals, all checked on the server: how many Aydria users have blocked the number (anonymised), the sound of a recorded call, the words in the first sentence, and how many different Aydria users the number called in the last day.

When 20 or more people block the same number, it is blocked for everyone who has not allowed it. A person at Aydria can review and reverse that.

When it gets it wrong

Sales detection looks at words, so it can miss a call and now and then block one you wanted. In Settings → Front desk you can see your blocked list, unblock a number, or block one by hand. A number you allow always gets through, even when others block it.
